2000 STB reliability problems
A couple of users of the 2000 STB have reported problems with occasional missed
keypresses, which was fixed by repositioning Red-Eye towards
the top-left corner of the STB's window.
Improving reliability of channel-change for timed recordings - see this page
A note on the Page/Volume functions - Note : this ONLY applies
to users of Philips DTX6370 and compatible remotes. Pronto/learning remote users, and
users of NTL blue remotes can access both page up/down and volume functions.
The volume up/down buttons on the Philips DTX remote are used by Red-Eye
to provide page-up/down functions. As those STBs which support volume (Currently only
Telewest) only do so in large steps, it was thought that page-up/down was a more important
function, so you should use the original remote to initially set the volume to a level
that is consistent with terrestrial channels, VCR etc. and then use the TV remote to
adjust volume.
